                             ABOUT

                    VASILIKI QUINLAN

Vasiliki studied makeup artistry, including everything from fashion to theatre to film to prosthetics and animatronics at Complections International Academy Inc.

Upon leaving makeup school she worked in fashion, theatre and film providing the skills she learned from her training.

She then studied Fine Art at The Toronto School of Art in a three year diploma program.

At The Toronto School of Art she won two awards and after graduation she went on to a work study summer position at The Banff Centre in the theatre department, building wigs and doing makeup.

The following year she went back to The Banff Centre to be in the work study position again as she had done the year before.

Instead she fell into a manic episode within the first week of being there.

Having to leave her budding career in Theatre makeup she was made to face a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder and it tore her down from the direction she was on.

Even still, she managed to do a residency during the summer following the first manic episode at The Toronto School of art where she had no definite direction but ran through tangible art ideas.

Again in 2012 Vasiliki had another manic episode and once she could return to reality everything creative was gone from her ability to express herself. She could not make art anymore.

After some time, she trained in Peer Support and volunteered as a Peer Supporter over the phone, in one on ones help and co-facilitating group sessions.

Following all of this she worked for years to navigate into a true self expression in art and life.

Trying to figure out how to apply the full circle of life and profession she has come into the final stage where she has explained in her Statement section on this website.
